…
But I didn’t like in episode 9 where everyone keeps telling Pao-Lin she has to be cute and stuff and how she’s a girl so she can take care of that baby.
SEXIST MUCH.There are girls/boys who would kill you for that.
Seriously.THANK
FUCKING
GOD
I’m not the only one who was rubbed the wrong way by that
I liked Dragon Kid a lot at first, but then she gave into the peer pressure of absolutely everybody around her telling her that her parents know best and that girls should dress cute, oh and here’s a baby for you to take care of, since you’re a woman and all.
I was just like
wow
k
One could also argue that she was secretly a girly girl the whole time, which would be fine too, but I don’t think they took her in the right direction as far as a hero character goes.
Joss, I love you bro
(Becca, Becca, BeccaBeccaBecca look at this we weren’t the only ones sob oh thank god)
hahahaha niji DO YOU KNOW WHAT THE LAST EPISODE HAD HER DO? THE ENTIRE CULMINATION OF HER TIME ON THE SHOW? SHOP WHILE WEARING A GIRLY DRESS AND A BLUSH WITH HER PARENTS! BECAUSE CONFORMING TO THE DESIRES OF SOCIETY AND YOUR PARENTS IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN BEING YOURSELF!!
jhafadsnjfd and I saw someone rec this show for being so great about women! I love them but they do not get much development or attention and even then it’s often in dumb ways. Some context for those who don’t know this show: Pao-lin is a self-described tomboy who wear a jumpsuit casually and a shirt and shorts combo while fighting. She says that she’s uncomfortable wearing feminine clothing. All of her major arcs revolved around her getting girlier often under pressure from her coworkers and parents.
The Golden Age - The Asteroids Galaxy Tour (annoyingly catchy)
So You Say - The Bird and the Bee
Dancing With Myself - Nouvelle Vague
You Can’t Hurry Love (READYMADE RE-EDIT) - The Supremes (impossible to be unhappy listening to this!)
I can’t recall where I first met you now but I think it was for some concise, intelligent meta which I still continue to enjoy! I like the way you take your time to suss things out and see most arguments as complex and enjoy your wry sense of humor, especially present in your icons. I adore your art too since it has a great sense of humor and the subject matter is stuff you don’t see elsewhere in much of fandom.
